A classic staple is what comes to my mind when I think about a pleated skirt. Although I see it as a staple, I haven’t had any luck with finding a perfect one that matches my style and fits my budget, until recently. I saw this navy blue skirt in Uniqlo store first and I was immediately drawn to it, but as always I took my sweet time to decide if I should buy it. After 3 weeks of sitting on the thought of owning it, I finally bought it right on time for fall. Since then, I styled it 3 ways already. I think pleated skirt is a perfect piece for winter looks.
Here are 3 ways I styled the pleated skirt:
- Pleated skirt over a summer dress, with Leather Jacket
This was one of the looks I put together for my #SummerDressInWinter2020 series that I’m doing on Instagram. I had a proud grin when I looked at the final look. Small tip to avoid looking bulky when trying skirt over dress is to choose a dress with thin fabric and simple tailoring, without any bulky pleats or A-line.
Dress – Loft (sold out, similar one in Amazon);
Skirt – Uniqlo (Sold out, similar one in Target);
Jacket – old (similar one in Asos);
Boots – Aldo

2. Classic skirt and high neck blouse
There’s no denying that a high neck blouse is a perfect match to the midi pleated skirt. And this blouse is a vintage piece that I bought online from ThreadsOfHabit. Halima, the owner of the store, curates and sells vintage clothing like this on ThreadofHabit for very affordable price. This is my first preloved item that I bought online, other than Thredup (Thredup is my go-to online store for preloved clothes)
High neck blouse – ThreadsofHabit (similar one in Nordstorm);
Skirt – Uniqlo (Sold out, similar one in Target);
Boots – Aldo;
Earrings – Sugarfix at Target

3. Skirt and Sweater for Winter look
A simple “sweater and skirt” look works best for cold weather. I got this cashmere sweater from BananaRepublic last year, its such a good quality, I bought another one in olive green color this year.
Cashmere Sweater– BananaRepublic;
Skirt – Uniqlo (Sold out, similar one in Target);
Shoes – Adidas;
Earrings – Sugarfix at Target
