Floral and stripes are best friends

Hello lovelies,

I know it has been a while I have posted on the blog, but I am active on Instagram, follow me there @dstylebook. I am still trying to come up with a plan to balance blogging and a full time job, give me some suggestions.

This post is about florals and stripes which somehow became best friends in my closet and manipulates me to pair them together when I want to dress up. The floral top that I am featuring here is the one I bought during my India trip last October. I learnt recently that I love blue after scrolling my instagram page, which I didn’t realize till now. So I guess, you will see more blue in my outfits.

Story of this outfit:  Yes I have a story behind all the outfits 🙂 . When I saw this floral top with peterpan collar, I knew I had to get it. Fun fact is when I tried it on, the sales lady told me that I look like a high school girl wearing an uniform, I dont know if I should take that as a compliment or you know 😦 . Anyhow, I got it and already started imagining the outfits with different pieces from my closet. I could not take it out during winter, it definitely is not for winter layering. I had to wait till spring and when it is time, I paired this with faded jeans and sneakers for a causal outfit. You know me, I dont stop with just one outfit. I know it will look super girly when it is paired with skirts especially striped skirt (my latest obsession). Yes, there is a story behind the skirt, if you want to skip it feel free to scroll down. I stop at zara no matter if I am at Mall or doing online shopping even though if I dont buy anything from there, I stop by to get some inspiration. That is how I fell in love with this striped skirt while I was browsing through zara collection, I bought it without even realizing it was still winter sigh!!!. No worries, it is finally spring to pull out this beauty, I am sorry this exact skirt was sold out but I managed to find similar ones (linked at the end of this post). So that is the story behind my outfit.

Style tip: When you are trying to mix two different prints, stick with the base color. For example, my top and skirt has blue and white colors which compliments each other and make them a good pair. There is always room for experiment if we stick with basics. Oh, I have included another way to style this peterpan collar top at the end of this post. Let me know which style you like the most and if there is any other way you would like to style it, I would love to know and possibly incorporate into my future outfits.
